Michael Kimbell operates his own Piano Tuning and Repair Service near San Francisco. He has been a Registered Piano Technician in the Piano Technicians Guild since 1979. For service, please call (650) 359-7693 for an appointment. Further information is under the Piano Services menu.
Michael, who earned his doctorate in music composition at Cornell University, is also an award-winning composer and clarinetist. He has won numerous accolades for his original music compositions, which include symphonic, chamber, choral, piano, harp, and vocal works as well as a short opera and children’s theatre music. (See Videos below.) As part of music-making, he keeps pianos singing and operating at their full potential.
Edith Kimbell, who assists Michael in the family Piano Service business, is also a free-lance writer of short stories, music editor and translator.
Together, as piano technician, composer, music publishers, and artists, Michael and Edith share a passion for creating and revitalizing music for musicians and audiences alike.
